Sundays are (one) of my favorite days. I love to use the day to reset and prepare for the week ahead. Over the years, I have found that having a designated reset day has been super helpful when it comes to staying on track towards my health goals and having a successful, productive week. I feel more organized and ready to tackle a hectic week of balancing work, working out, eating healthy and keeping the house semi clean. Even though my Sundays are filled with productive activities to help me accomplish the week ahead, I like to end the day with some self care practices because Lord knows when I’ll be able to do them during the week.
So here is what a typical Sunday looks like for me:
-workout
-grocery shop (if I haven’t already)
-meal prep at least a few meals for a quick grab and go during the week
-put new sheets on the bed
-laundry
-spend time with family
-everything shower
-read, journal or schedule my week ahead
-watch a movie/tv show
I know you might be thinking, “that doesn't look relaxing at all” and yes I agree, the first portion of the day is not, BUT I look forward to accomplishing my tasks and getting to the more relaxing part of the day. It feels rewarding to know that I have helped my future self by preparing a meal or going grocery shopping so that I don’t feel as stressed during the week.
One thing that I like to remind my clients is that tackling your health journey isn’t just about eating healthy and working out. It's also the behind the scenes work such as having a Sunday reset day. It’s helping your future self when you know you're going to feel too tired to prepare that healthy meal you know you should eat or preparing the lemon water ahead of time for when you're quenched with thirst.
Although my list is personalized for my Sunday reset, I have pulled together a list of FIVE easy tasks that anyone could use in order to help prepare for the busy week ahead!
Make a pitcher or lemon water to leave in the fridge
Plan your weeknight meals before you grocery shop
Practice at least one form of self care
Move your body
Whether that is stretching, walking, going to the gym, etc. this will help with motivation to move your body throughout the week
5. Get some sleep
Feeling well rested to start the week is crucial for helping gain the motivation and energy to accomplish your goals.
These are just a few simple tasks that you can incorporate into your own reset day. However, if you're looking for a more personalized plan, check out my list of nutrition plans and book a discovery call with me today so that we can get you on the right track towards feeling your best!
