My Health Journey

Around 7 years ago I officially began my fitness/health journey. At the time I was very young, naieve and had NO idea what I was doing. I had always been interested in having a healthy lifestyle but I was a broke college student who was too focused on my new relationship and making new friends to focus on something like my health. However, I quickly began to realize that my body and soul were craving a change in lifestyle and I knew it was time to start my journey.
At the time, I had two goals, I wanted to eat healthier and tone my muscles. However, the articles I read, Pintrests I found and YouTube videos I watched did not set me up for success, rather, they confused me to say the least. From all the fad diets to the dos and dont's for building a certain type of physique, I was a bit lost. I had no idea that I needed to eat MORE in order to see my toned muscles or loose any excess fat. I had no idea that I needed to go slow with every lift and focus on mind muscle connection and I had no idea that running every day wasn't going to help me loose any of the excess "fat" that I was looking to loose.
Fast forward to 2022, I found a routine that fit my lifestyle. I came up with a meal plan that worked for me, I was meeting all of my fitness goals, hitting personal records and felt the best I ever have. I began toying with bulking and cutting and was beginning to see the muscle definition that I was looking for all those years ago. I also gained the confidence to enroll back into college to get the credentials I needed in order to help others start and succeed along their health journey.
Since then, I have gone through both pregnancy and postpartum, which just added to the roller coaster of a health journey I have had. I'll be honest, I have never seen myself weigh so much in my life and it was a bit alarming. All the schooling I went through did not prepare me for how I would emotionally feel. I was well prepared for helping clients through pregnancy but I was not prepared for how the weight gain would effect me mentally because honestly, I've never experienced something like that. Throughout pregnancy I gained a bit of weight, nothing over the recommended amount but I was borderline. It was definitely a mental challenge to see that after finally being where I wanted to be with my health journey. However, I knew that I was creating such a little blessing and as long as I stuck with a healthy diet and consistent exercise, I would be able to meet the new health and fitness goals that I set for myself.

It's now been six months since I gave birth to my little boy and I've enjoyed every minute of my new journey. Trying to find a schedule that fits my new lifestyle and meal planning between numerous activities and celebrations has been quite a challenge but I am living for it, after all this is truly what I love to do! I'm starting to finally meet some of my goals and see the results I have been looking foward to. I've endured a lot of patience as well as frustration throughout this journey and I've experienced some of my greatest achievements since I first started my health journey. Between my personal experience and my previous clients experiences, I am truly so thrilled to continue helping others along their unique health journey. One lesson that I have learned is that it's truly and ebb and flow journey but the key to succeeding and meeting your goals is consistency and without it you begin to feel lost.
